All my maternity clothes arrived, some of them are still too big, but I’m sure I’ll need them eventually! So far, baby stuff wise, I have bought:

Bottles

Breast Pump (manual, not electric…they scare me a bit)

Microwave Steriliser

Pack of 3 baby vest-type things

Nappy Disposal System (yet to arrive)

I’m trying to get a few little bits each month, then get the more expensive stuff nearer September. Most of it isn’t too expensive so far…although that may change.

I’ve felt the baby move quite a lot over the last few days, mainly in the evening and early in the morning. It sort of feels like it’s rolling over…very odd, in a good way. The only downside is my stomach muscles ache every now and then, I assume it’s because they are being stretched.

All is well.

Went to see the Midwife this morning, everything is fine. Got to listen to the baby’s heartbeat, that was fine too. Next appointment will be with GP, just for a check-up.

Midwife talked about ante-natal classes, I’m not sure if I’ll bother with these. I’ve spoken to a few other people about it, and it seems that they are a bit pointless, you can get all the info. you need on the Internet or from books. Will have to have a think about it. Still waiting for my maternity clothes to arrive, although the ‘Bump bands’ arrived yesterday…haven’t really looked at them yet though. I’m also considering getting one of those V-shaped pillows, they’re supposed to help you sleep and be good for when you’re breast-feeding.

Feeling better!

I’m so much better now! My tutor at the OU was very helpful and supportive about my issues with coursework, so that’s sorted. Illness has pretty much gone, as has general nausea & travel sickness (I think).

I’m seeing the Midwife on Thursday, just for a check-up I believe, and then next scan is in about a month. We’ll hopefully find out if it’s a boy or girl, I think it’s a girl, but everyone else seems to think it’s a boy.

My appetite is ridiculous, I get really hungry every couple of hours! Still get a bit tired by about 9.00pm, but usually can just lie in bed and watch TV for an hour or two before falling asleep. I get the odd ache in my back/legs/tummy etc, but it goes away fairly quickly. The headaches seem to have gone off as well, for now.

Ill and grumpy!

Yes, I’m ill. Had a bug for about 3 days, it’s horrid….bad sinuses, headache, tiredness etc. and I can’t take any medication. I just feel like I’ve been ill for months, if it’s not colds/viruses, it’s morning sickness (or ‘random times during the day’ sickness) and travel sickness!

Also, I’m in a bad mood today, could be due to illness/tiredness/hormones etc. I’m seriously considering giving up my degree, for now, I just can’t face doing any work on it at the moment, and there is  lot to do over the next few weeks. I’ll think about it a bit more in few days I think.

I have a bump!

It’s fairly small at the moment, but I have a definite bump where my tummy used to be. Luckily I ordered a some bigger clothes a week or so ago, so I have things that fit me. Most of my old trousers/skirts and some tops are just too tight now. Although, I’m not big enough for maternity clothes just yet. I like my bump though, it’s oddly comforting.

Morning sickness seems to have gone (hopefully), will attempt a car journey at the weekend and see if travel sickness has gone as well (hopefully, it has). I have more energy now, but still get tired at about 9.00pm, and I can eat chocolate again!

I’m massively tempted to start buying baby clothes etc. but I think it’s still a bit early. Will have to see how long I can resist the temptation for. 20 week scan is booked for mid-May, so maybe I’ll start buying stuff after that. Haven’t decided on any names yet, but have a list of possibilities. Will think about that more carefully when we know if it’s a boy or a girl, which we should find out at the next scan.

It’s the Easter holiday at the moment, so I get some time to rest properly, which is nice. Although, holiday usually gets used up by visits to family/friends, or them coming here (which means I have to do all the tidying up etc. before they get here), course work, dental appointments. I’ll try not to let that happen this time.

Update

I thought the morning sickness had gone, but it came back this morning! Hopefully it will go soon though. Just get travel sick now.

I spent this morning doing course work, it was a lot of fiddling around with Excel. Quite dull really, but at least it’s out of the way now. I don’t like Excel.

This afternoon I looked at lots of baby stuff on the Internet, even though it’s a bit early to start buying things. I have chosen the pushchair I want. If you get a car seat with it, it can be used from birth, kind of a Travel System type of thing. It was recommended by a friend, so should be quite good.

I’m pregnant!

Went for 12 week scan today, all seems ok. I’ve got a photo. I’m so glad I can actually tell people now. Don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet…. but it looks a bit like an alien. It’s due on 28th September!

On a different topic, I passed the Archaeology module, with a higher mark than I expected! All is good.

Sorting stuff out.

Ok, one of the the people I fell out with a few weeks ago is now a friend again. Hormones may well have influenced the initial disagreement, but it’s all sorted now.

I have decided that I’m going to try to make my life a bit easier. I am going to take a couple of months off the Degree. It doesn’t affect anything drastically, so after October I’ll take some time away from it and start the next module(s) in February. Should still have a degree by the end of 2011.

I’ve also decided I want less drama in my life, which means not listening to people when they give me bad advice. I’ve discovered that I’m quite easily influenced by people, which I never thought I was. I shall make my own decisions from now on.

Now I shall go back to feeling sorry for myself (I have a horrid cold), while lying in bed.

Half term

So, it’s half term, I have this week off.  To be honest the last week or so has been a bit rubbish, I’ve fallen out with a couple of people because I found out that they were quite nasty. Apparently I am not a very good judge of character, as these were people I considered friends, turns out they were not friends at all. Still, at least I know now, I shall have nothing more to do with them!

On a happier note, we got our tap fixed and ordered a new curtain rail (a pretty one). Also, my lovely fiance has ordered me a picture of a star cluster to hang on our wall, it should be here soon. I’m quite excited.

Oh, and it’s pancake day! Pancakes with strawberries, cream and maple syrup for dinner.

New sofa and annoying friends.

Today has been full of DRAMA! The tap in the kitchen is broken, the new sofa and chair arrived, but the people collecting the old sofa decided that they couldn’t be bothered to take it after all, so it’s currently taking up half of our bedroom. Luckily, someone else is coming to collect it tomorrow.

To add to the drama, some of my supposed ‘friends’ are really annoying me at the moment, in various ways, but mainly because a couple of them managed to really upset my best friend with their stupid childish behaviour. I’m not impressed!
